I'm Hilary, the owner and designer of Lilly Bean. You might be asking yourself.....what is Lilly Bean??
Lilly Bean is a toy company that creates artistically designed toys that inspire children through creative play.  

Our original plush play food was created by me in 2004 when my 4 year old son asked what his new stuffed animals were supposed to eat. Feeling quite creative, I whipped up a cute little egg and pancake. Soon after came donuts, bacon, fruits veggies....a passion was born. In 2006, with encouragement of my friends and family, I officially launched the Lilly Bean business. Lilly Bean is my daughters nick name. She was only a few days old when the obsession started and I just thought the name was so cute!

Over the past few years Lilly Bean has developed from a 1 person business to a collaboration of a few machine seamstress and a group of Amish craftswomen that helped sew all the Lilly Bean play food. Now we are also working with sewing contractors to manufacture our new line of play food, Fuzzy Foods! We keep all of our production exclusively in the USA. We love knowing the people that create our toys and that they take pride in everything we make.

Safety is very important to me and to Lilly Bean! Our plush play food is developed for children ages 3 and up. Children under 3 should be closely supervised while playing with our play food.  Most of our toys are not considered choking hazards due to their size. We make "life-sized" play food...meaning that our sandwich is about the size of a real sandwich etc. Anything that is a choking hazard is labeled clearly on our website. All of our toys comply with CPSIA standards and are lead and phthalate free. Lilly Bean toys are completely non-toxic (we wouldn't have it any other way)! Our toys are always designed and created with children in mind. We are committed to creating toys that will last and be played with by children of many ages and abilities. Play food can be enjoyed so many different ways! From playing store to restaurant, or using them as manipulatives for counting to fine motor skill development, our toys are safe, soft and wonderful to touch!

Lilly Bean works hard to be kind to the environment while still providing toys that children will love. Our toys are now stuffed with fiber fill created from recycled pop bottles. Our wool felt is all natural and is made in the USA which causes less fuel consumption than imported felt. Our packaging is all either biodegradable, easily recyclable, reusable or made from recycled materials (that can then be recycled again!). All of our manufacturing is done in the USA which also lowers fuel consumption.
